About Us
Tideland Utilities, Inc. is a SC licensed underground utility contractor based out of Summerville, SC specializing in water and sewer installation and maintenance. We perform work on new and existing water, sewer, and storm drainage systems in the lower half of the state, mainly in the tri-county area of Charleston, SC.
Tideland Utilities began as an earthwork & pipeline company in 1964 by Earl R. DuPriest Jr. On September 23, 1969, it was incorporated in the state of South Carolina, and began its current journey in the water and sewer industry. In 1996, Earl’s son Steve DuPriest was promoted to President and tasked with taking the company forward.
Since that time, Tideland Utilities has become one of the leading utility contractors in the lower part of the state. We currently perform work for and in all of the local municipalities on both public infrastructure projects and private developments that range from commercial and industrial sites to new residential communities.
We are proud to be a part of the continuing development and growth of the lowcountry of South Carolina. This is our home and we want to make it the best place to live.
